Courses on construction health and safety
The Construction Industry Training Board is a national organisation responsible for providing training, qualifications and support for the construction industry.
These tests ensure that workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before they go on-site.
CITB training courses are available at any of EAP Training's purpose-built training centres.

CITB – Health & Safety Awareness
£XXX per candidate
This CITB course provides candidates with a practical summary of health and safety, welfare and environmental issues.
Candidates will be provided with the knowledge to identify individual responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, what the employer's duties are and what should be done in the event that somebody's health and safety is being put at risk.
Please be advised that the minimum attendance for this course is 16 years-old. However, delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of training.
The course will culminate with a written test.
By the end of the course clients will:
- Understand the need to prevent accidents
- Have an understanding of health and safety law
- Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
- Understand the need for risk assessments and method statements
- Appreciate the need to work safely and ask for advice if unsure
- Report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
CITB – Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme
£XXX per candidate
This course will teach candidates the Site Supervisory responsibilities needed to give advice in safely managing a construction site.
Please be advised that the minimum attendance for this course is 16 years-old. However, delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of training.
The course will culminate with a written test.
The course will cover:
- Health and safety law
- Developing a health and safety management system
- Occupational health
- Fire prevention and control
- Risk assessment and method statements
- Hazardous substances
- CDM regulations
- Working at height
- Personal protected equipment
- Manual handling
- Accidents and first aid.
CITB – Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher
£XXX per candidate
This course will provide candidates with improved and refreshed knowledge on recent developments in the construction industry, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
It will also allow candidates to identify measures which will assist in the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and working practices.
Please be advised that the minimum attendance for this course is 16 years-old. However, delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of training.
The course will culminate with a written test.

The course will cover:
- Site setup
- CDM regulations
- Risk assessments

- Scaffolding
- Electricity

CITB – Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher
£XXX per candidate
This course will provide candidates in a project / site management with an improved and refreshed understanding on their responsibilities for maintaining site safety.
Please be advised that the minimum attendance for this course is 16 years-old. However, delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of training.
The course will culminate with a written test.
The course will cover:
- The current focus of the HSE
- Risk assessments
- Method statements
- CDM regulations
- Construction Health, Safety and Welfare (CDM part 2)
- Reporting of accidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR)
Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction, including;
- Work at Height Regulations
