Abrasive Wheels

This training course aims to educate candidates on the safe election, fitting and use of abrasive wheels. The risks of the use of abrasive wheels and the mitigation of said risks is also covered.

The course content is as follows:

  • Regulations and guidance affecting the use of abrasive wheels
  • Abrasive wheels specifications – wheel types

  • Wheel mounting and storage
  • Damaged or faulty wheels and equipment

  • Effects on health – silica dust and hand arm vibration
  • Control measures – safe equipment use and hazard awareness

This training course focuses on raising awareness on the potential hazards associated with working with abrasive wheels, diamond blades and silica dust exposure.

Safe Use of Petrol Driven Cut-Off Saws 

£XXX  per candidate

This course is designed to train candidates on the safe and effective use of petrol driven cut-off saws in conjunction with abrasive wheels, in accordance with manufacturer guidance and current legislation. With accidents involving such equipment becoming more common, the course aims to raise industry standards and minimise future industries with a mixture of theoretical and practical delivery.

This course will culminate in an assessment.

  • Personal protective equipment

  • Noise and hand arm vibration

  • Exhaust gas and carbon monoxide
