F-Gas & ODS Regulations - (Category 1) Handling Fluorinated Gases and ODS
£XXX per candidate
This 5-day course is designed for candidates who work with fluorinated gases and/or ozone-depleting substances. Candidates will learn the knowledge and practical skills surrounding leak checking, recovery, installation and the servicing and maintenance of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment.
Course content is as follows:
Theory
- Identify basic systems, terms, principles, units and how these relate to theory and thermodynamics of vapour compression and refrigerants
- Identify the causes and effects of global warming and climate change
- Identify causes and effects of ozone depletion
- Identify stationary refrigerant, air conditioning, and heat-pump systems components, functions and leakage risk
- Identify the hazards and safe working practices for the installation, commissioning and handling of refrigerants
Practical
- Fabricate and examine pipework
- Undertake pressure testing, evacuation and record completion
- Undertake refrigerant charging, leak charging and record keeping
- Undertake recovery of refrigerant and oil and prepare for disposal
