Courses on the use of mobile access towers
The Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association is an international not-for-profit association, dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of mobile access towers across a range of industries.
These internationally-recognised PASMA courses are designed to provide individuals with the skills needed for the proper use of mobile access towers.
Completion of a PASMA course will be certified via a PASMA card. This will serve as proof of competence.
On-site training is available upon request.

PASMA – Mobile Access Tower for Users
£XXX per candidate
This course will provide candidates with an understanding of the current legislation surrounding the use of mobile access towers and the skills needed to safely erect, dismantle and inspect mobile access towers as per the manufacturer's instructions.
This course is ideal for those new to towers or tower training. Successful completion of the course will make the candidate eligible for more advanced courses.
The course content is as follows:

- Equipment, selection and inspections
- Assembly methods
- Hazards
- Final assessment
PASMA – Low Level Access
£XXX per candidate
This course will provide candidates with an understanding of the current legislation surrounding and the skills needed to safely erect, dismantle and inspect low-level access units (Prefabricated units under 2.5m of height) as per the manufacturer's instructions.
This course is suitable for anyone involved in the usage of low-level access equipment.

- Final assessment
PASMA – Working at Heights Essentials
£XXX per candidate
This is a theory-based course, designed to cover the essential points surrounding working at height. It provides vital information about the safe and legal use of mobile access towers, plus an insight into the use of all forms of access equipment.
This course enables the delegate to effectively comply with their duties as laid out with the Work at Height regulations.
The course content is as follows:
- Introduction
- Aims and objectives
- Competent person
- Legislation
- Work At Height Regulations 2005
- Overview of safe and unsafe working practices – Safe places of work, personal fall protection equipment, scaffolds and mobile access towers, MEWPS and suspended platforms, ladders and steps, fragile roofs and other surfaces.
- Recognising common unsafe practices/hazards
- Collective fall prevention/protection
- Need for inspection work equipment
- Falling objects and danger areas
- Industry training bodies
- A written Working at Height risk assessment
- A theoretical assessment
PASMA – Advanced Towers on Stairs
£XXX per candidate
This is a specialised program designed for individuals who need to work with access towers on stairs. It builds upon the foundation knowledge laid out in other PASMA courses.
Candidates must hold a current and valid PASMA ‘Towers for Users' photocard and have a good working knowledge of working at height.
The course content is as follows:
- Current legislation
- Regulations and Guidance affective working at height with access towers
- The PASMA Code of Practice
- Production Standards EN 1004:2004
- Assembling, altering and dismantling towers
- Fall protection and inspection of completed access towers
- Tower inspection records
- Hazards affecting the use of towers on stairs
